We will visit Botahtaung Pagoda it’s one of the rare Pagodas that you can walk inside and contains Buddha’s relics.
Many Buddhists in Thailand believe in animist spirits. Which are normally based on historical, real life characters. The practice has grown in popularity in Thailand in recent years as a result many Thai visitors that come to Myanmar consider Mya Nang Nwe’s shrine a must see.
Mya Nang Nwe was born in 1897 in Mogok, Mandalay Region, a town renowned for its high-quality rubies. Throughout her life she was said to be renowned for her beauty and generosity, before she died in 1957. Her shrine was erected inside Botahtaung Pagoda in 1990.
“Thai people think that if they pray closely for the things they wish for, that wish will be granted,” said Ko Ko Hlaing, a Yangon based tour guide.
Mya Nang Nwe’s popularity among Thai tourists may soon be surpassed by another Nat spirit, Botahtaung Bo Bo Gyi, who also has a shrine at the pagoda.
Bo Bo Gyi’s increased fame can be attributed to a May 2015 visit by English Premier League football club Leicester City which was bought by Thai businessman Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha in August 2010.
On May 2 Leicester won the English Premier League title which has been described as one of the great sporting upsets of all time and the team has captured the hearts of sport lovers in Thailand and around the globe.
After that we will visit Chaukhtatgyi Pagoda a colossal reclining Buddha and downtown Chinatown with its distinct streets, fruit markets and other main boulevards of Yangon downtown. We will visit Bogyoke Aung San Market (previously called the Scott Market,) which is the perfect place to buy souvenirs and gifts of local handicrafts, woodcarvings, dolls, lacquer wares, textiles and gems.
Then we will take you to the spectacular Shwedagon Pagoda (one of the world’s most famous and richest stupas.) The Shwedagon is over 2,500 years old towering over the city with a height of 326 feet and covered with 60 tons of pure gold. Watch the golden dome spectacularly lit up by the magical sunset. Overnight stay in the Antique Luxury Yacht which is situated near the Nats Bo Bo Gy and Mya Nang Nwe.
Day 2
After breakfast at your hotel we’ll drive to the meticulously kept Htaukkyant World War 2 Cemetery who’s graves and walls bear the names of 27,000 fallen Allied soldiers. This war cemetery is the largest in Myanmar.

We will continue to Shwemawdaw Pagoda then onto Kanbawzathardi Palace, Bago which was an ancient capital of the Mon Kingdom in 15th century. When the Myanmar King brought the Thailand Queen back to Myanmar he made her one of his wife’s. He built a palace for her in Thai style and trained her son in war craft.
Then we will proceed to the amazing Golden Rock (Kyaikthiyo.) Kyaiktiyo is essentially a pagoda but it is the way this gold gilded rock hangs precariously as if about to topple over the 1100 Metre cliff, which makes its visitors stop and gape.
